Cape Cod has long been a cherished summer destination for locals and out-of-state visitors alike. Sandwich is the Cape’s oldest town and one of the most convenient to reach by car for a quick day trip. Sandwich is also stuffed with innovative cuisine, and we definitely have some favorites to share!
Start your day with breakfast at The Snowy Owl. This charming cafe has an on-site roastery and bakery, with a menu featuring single-origin coffee pour-overs, espresso and tea lattes, fresh-squeezed juices, pastries and! Peruvian-inspired empanadas. There are options to order online, and you can take your breakfast to their outside patio to start soaking in that coastal sunshine!
For lunch, you’re less than ten minutes away from Fisherman’s View, a seafood market and restaurant with seating that faces the idyllic Cape Cod Bay. Admire the fishing boats idling in the marina while chowing down on selections from an ample raw bar, fusion-style sushi or other nautically influenced fare. Whatever you choose, everything is freshly caught; peruse their market on your way out as proof and take some shellfish home to (attempt to) recreate the moment.
End your adventures on a swanky note with dinner at The Seal. This former gallery still hosts local artwork and boasts a coastally inspired menu that imagines beyond simple fish-and chips fare. Plus, Saturdays feature live piano music from 5:30-9:00pm.
